A positional shot is any shot where you are not attempting to hit the green—for example, laying up, punching out, or playing conservatively to avoid trouble. Tagging a shot as positional ensures that it doesn’t negatively affect your approach play statistics.
On the Mobile App:
- Open the round you want to edit.
- Tap on the hole containing the shot.
- Tap on the club tag of the shot you want to mark.
- In the shot details screen, toggle “Positional Shot” on.
- Tap “Save” to confirm the change.
On the Web Dashboard:
- Log into your Shot Scope dashboard.
- Open the round you’d like to edit.
- Select the hole and click on the shot you wish to edit.
- On the right-hand side, tick the box labelled “Positional Shot”.
- Click “Save” to apply the update.
Once a shot is marked as positional, it will be excluded from your approach statistics. You can update or remove this designation at any time through the same editing process.
